Choosing Digital Camera

For entry class with a limited budget like me, use a digital camera guide selecting below:

Important Specification:
1. BATTERY
Do not buy camera with special battery. Choose cameras with ordinary batteries like AA or AAA type. When the special battery have reach its end of life, there will probably no store selling those battery except the vendor, and it won't be cheap.

2. OPTICAL ZOOM
Choose optical zoom, not the promoted zoom. Usually promoted zoom = optical zoom x digital zoom. Optical zoom give much better zoom because it is done by lens. Digital zoom is less good because it is done by camera software. Choose camera with more than 3x optical zoom.

3. MEMORY CARD

Buy camera with odinary external memory card like MMC and SD-CARD. These memory card is compatible with nearly all device out there. PDAs, Notebooks, etc. Notice that there's no notebook with built-in CF-card reader.

4. RECORD VIDEO
Buy camera featuring unlimited video record function (limited only with memory card capacity) with recording minimum at 320x240 @ 30fps. Specification 320x240 @30fps give good quality for recording without eating much memory

5. MEGAPIXEL
Minimum 5 Megapixel is enough for capturing those moments. And it can print 4R photos nicely. Cameras with high megapixel is usually expensive.

NOT SO IMPORTANT SPECIFICATIONS :
1. LCD DISPLAY
More display mean more expensive, not very useful, and eat more energy from battery.
2. UKURAN KAMERA
Camera with thin shape usually come with special battery, well, it is not fit with number 1 from later description.
3. HIGH ISO MODE
High ISO mode usually expensive and give noise to the picture.
